I am a Principal AI/ML Engineer and an Associate Professor with 15 years of experience in ontology engineering, semantic knowledge discovery, NLP, and LLMs, spanning clinical AI, early R&D, and enterprise regulatory systems at Mayo Clinic, BMS, and Amgen. My career centers on a single theme: combining knowledge with data—and ontologies with NLP/LLMs—to build trustworthy intelligent systems that understand biomedical information at scale.My PhD introduced a graph-based framework for knowledge discovery (2016), which shaped my long-standing focus on semantic representation and knowledge-driven AI. I later advanced ontology embeddings and clinical NLP at Mayo, built large drug–disease–target knowledge graphs at BMS, and now lead ARISE, Amgen’s enterprise semantic engine supporting compliance, quality, regulatory, and other related areas.I bring deep expertise in knowledge-first AI, integrating ontologies, knowledge graphs, NLP, and LLMs to turn unstructured biomedical text into accurate, actionable intelligence across the life science and drug development lifecycle.I am a Fellow of the American Medical Informatics Association (FAMIA) with 80+ peer-reviewed publications and 3,900+ citations.
