ABOUT FEHMI KARAALIOGLU

Currently employed at PowerCo as a process development specialist focusing on cell assembly and vision inspection. Graduated from Western University with a Master of Science in Electrical and Computer Engineering, specializing in Robotics and Artificial Intelligence. Expertise includes sensor and microcontroller technologies, communication protocols, real-time operating systems (RTOS), machine learning, and AI. Practical skills are demonstrated through innovative projects such as the development of a smart walker, a smart greenhouse system, and a fingerprint-based access system, which reflect creativity and problem-solving abilities. The master’s thesis concentrated on the Smart Walker (SW), an advanced human-robot interaction project designed to improve mobility for individuals with physical impairments. This smart walker is equipped with sensors and machine learning capabilities that allow it to adapt dynamically to the user’s intent, thereby enhancing personal independence and facilitating rehabilitation. Experience has also been enriched by multiple internships with Riipen, during which data science techniques were applied, including natural language processing (NLP) models, Twitter data scraping, machine learning in real estate, and exploratory data analysis. Studies have been complemented with professional certifications from The Construct, Udacity, Coursera, IBM, Matlab, and LinkedIn. Fluent in both English and Turkish.
