ABOUT FEDERICO ZAMPESE

I am a Masters of Electronics & Electrical Engineering graduate from The Robert Gordon University, Aberdeen.I have a passion for technology, modern electronic devices and the Energy industry. I currently work as a Systems Engineer at Process Safety Solutions (Aberdeen), where my job is to do project work dealing with functional safety and Safety Instrumented Systems (SIS), such as modifications to and validation of Emergency Shutdown Systems (ESD) and Fire & Gas Systems (FAG) for the Energy industry.My motivation and great attention to detail allowed me to complete my MEng degree in 4 years and to graduate with Distinction. I have also been awarded the Metrol Prize in 2023 for Best Electronic & Electrical student in the study of Instrumentation, Control & Signal Processing, and the Commendation Award by the School of Engineering for Best Student in Final Year of MEng Electrical Engineering 5-year Programmes.My MENG final year project consisted in designing and prototyping a RF sensor for high power microwave systems, for which I received top marks. This allowed me to get some hands on experience in R&D, Spice simulation and CAD packages like Altium Designer, Fusion 360 and Autodesk EAGLE, as well as to learn how to use lab equipment such as RF signal generators, oscilloscopes, and more.
