ABOUT FEDERICO ROVERE

My name is Federico Rovere, I\'m an Aeronautical Engineer specialized in Aerodynamics and Fluidynamics, however, I have a strong proposition for all aerospace sectors. During my studies, I dealt with aerospace structure, flight dynamics, and aerospace motors. The main topic of my PhD research involved the brownout/whiteout phenomenon, with the aim to model it properly using CFD and mathematic models to simulate rotor wakes and dispersed particles motion. Particle tracking has been studied following both Eulerian and Lagrangian points of view. During my research, I worked on CFD analysis of rotor wakes, including numerical validation against experimental results, particle uplift phenomena and particle tracking motion in high turbulent flowfield. I developed a particle tracking tool for my own research, based on HMB, University of Glasgow CFD solver, we performed also timing and code performance for parallel computer code. During these years I also developed the ability to work independently. During my university period, I also had the opportunity to be part of the Skyward Experimental Rocketry Project. The main aim of SKYWARD is designing and realizing small and medium-sized experimental sounding rockets. I started working as an aerodynamicist, but after less than two years, I became Head of the Computational Rocket Dynamics (CRD) group. As team leader I learned how to run a small research group, dispensing tasks, and making decisions as efficiently as possible. I developed a great passion and a strong curiosity for aerodynamics and more in general the aerospace sector.
