ABOUT FEDERICO ANTONELLO

I am a System and Applications Architect at the European Space Agency (ESA), where I coordinate and lead activities in the main areas of mission preparation tools, operational simulators, advanced modeling and simulation concepts, intelligent systems, AI and automation.I completed a bachelor\'s degree in Energy Engineering at the University of Padua in 2014 and a master\'s degree in Nuclear Engineering at Politecnico di Milano in 2017. Then, I obtained my Ph.D. at Politecnico di Milano in 2021. During my doctoral experience, I actively collaborated with CERN as a Cooperation Associate. I focused my studies on researching innovative methodologies for reliability engineering through a multidisciplinary approach and using techniques that range from modeling engineering to machine learning. From October 2021 to October 2022, I was a postdoctoral fellow at MIT, where I was given the outstanding postdoctoral research award by the Department of Nuclear Science and Engineering. From 2022 to 2024, I was an internal research fellow at the European Space Agency (ESA), working on the development of digital twins for spacecraft operations.
