ABOUT FEDERICA STELLA BLASI
I\'m Scientific Program Manager at the CMCC Foundation (Euro-Mediterranean Center on Climate Change), where I mange “Global Coasts as a New Frontier” - a multidisciplinary research program that explores the effects of climate change on the socio-economic and environmental dimensions of coastal systems. The program aims to develop advanced tools - such as digital twins of the global coastal ocean - to foster climate resilience and sustainable development. My role bridges scientific research and policy-making, while promoting innovation through modeling, AI, remote sensing, and citizen science. Graduating with honors in International Economics, Politics, and Institutions (110/110 cum laude, University of Pavia), I’ve built a career focused on the strategic management of complex R&D&I projects across diverse sectors - particularly agri/aquafood and territorial development. I bring full-lifecycle expertise, from concept design and proposal development to implementation, evaluation, dissemination and outreach. Before joining CMCC, I coordinated the Urban Farming Lab at the University of Salento, a cutting-edge research facility working at the intersection of urban farming, food science, systems ecology, and automation technologies applied to the food industry. I continue to serve as Scientific Coordinator of the Executive Master in Wine Business Innovation at LUM University, actively supporting knowledge transfer between academia and the wine industry. I’m also pursuing a PhD in Economics and Management of Sustainability and Innovation at LUM University. My research focuses on sustainability-oriented innovation for coastal systems climate resilience. Throughout my career, I’ve built strong connections across academia, public and private institutions, industrial partners, research centers, and technology hubs. I believe in the power of cross-sector collaboration to generate impactful, sustainable solutions.
