ABOUT FEDEN ABEDA
My name is Feden, which means the seed of a perennial flower—a symbol of resilience and renewal. I carry this meaning into my work as a helping professional with a strong background in trauma-informed practices, conflict resolution, and community outreach.Over the past decade, I’ve built experience in higher education, legal settings, and community-based organizations, always with a focus on supporting vulnerable communities. In my current role as a Safe Disclosure Advisor at Mount Royal University, I provide guidance on equity and human rights issues, facilitate trauma-informed intake processes, and support students, staff, and faculty navigating difficult disclosures. I also design and deliver trauma-informed workshops for helpers and frontline staff, creating safer and more supportive spaces for both professionals and the people they serve.Beyond my professional roles, I am a creative coach and facilitator, offering arts-based workshops, retreats, and coaching to empower individuals and organizations. With training in mediation, expressive arts therapy, and life coaching, I bring both structure and creativity to my practice.I am passionate about equity, mental health advocacy, conflict transformation, and creative empowerment. Whether supporting survivors of trauma, guiding institutions toward inclusive practices, or helping communities strengthen their networks of care, my work is rooted in compassion, resilience, and collaboration.
