Responsible for managing a team of ~20 engineers that perform Cybersecurity engineering and operations, incident response and identity management. Ensures employee awareness and compliance with Laboratory policies, procedures, and practices, and regulatory requirements. Knows and applies appropriate tools, processes, and procedures affecting organization of responsibility. Responsible for providing design, development, implementation, and maintenance of Cyber Security systems and processes: • Incident Management • Investigations and Forensics • System Hardening and Preventative Measures • Security design reviews • SIEM and other monitoring and reporting metrics tool development and operation • Identity Management • Penetration and Vulnerability Testing • Directs and guides through managers and/or high level staff positions and makes decisions on hiring, promotions, salary changes, training/ development needs, performance appraisals, layoffs, terminations, etc. • Develops, modifies and implements organizational policies and procedures along with strategic plans and objectives that have Laboratory-wide impact. • Controls all financial activity within the area of responsibility; proposes and implements new long and short range initiatives in consultation with senior and/or executive management. • Actions and decisions may positively affect the availability of Laboratory resources due to efficient management of budgets and workforce.
