PROJECT MANAGEMENT AND DESIGN• Prepare engineering analysis, feasibility studies and detailed engineering plans, designs, specifications, and legal requirements.• Prepare working drawings, specification and cost estimates for design projects.• Undertake engineering calculations.• Undertake drainage analysis and design studies.• Compile and present results of engineering studies.• Prepare interim and completion project reports- PROJECT MANAGEMENT OF THE 3 WATERS PROJECTS• Compile job specifications and tendering documents• Schedule material and equipment purchases and deliveries.• Undertake capital development on selected projects using external consultants/contractors as appropriate.• Seek out best contracting practice, procurement methods and best alignment of contracts to corporate outcomes. • Prepare reports for Asset and Capital Manager as required.• Undertake reporting as required for funding agreements.• Act as the Engineer’s representative or other roles within construction contracts, using NZS3910 or similar standard forms of contract-IWI AND COMMUNITY LIAISON• Resolve design and development problems.• Input into the preparation of asset management plans.• Undertake community engagement and consultation projects.• Consult with Iwi, Hapu and Marae committees to develop and implement agreed strategies and actions as required, relating to the three waters activity• Provide clear, concise and consistent information to the community on Council projects• Engage with the community on the implementation of Council projects.• Provide effective service to internal customers.• Attend public meetings.
