About Fay K. Johnson
Originally from Chicago, Illinois, as a young girl, Fay Kathleen Johnson’s family relocated to rural Dorchester County, calling Harleyville, South Carolina their new home. Fay graduated from the University of South Carolina with a Bachelor’s of Science in Criminology and Political Science. While enrolled at Carolina, Fay was the Assistant Chief Page for the South Carolina House of Representatives and received the Outstanding Page Award for her dedication and loyalty to the SC House of Representatives Members and Staff. Fay pursued her Paralegal Certification after graduating from Carolina at Midlands Technical Institute. After receiving her certification, Fay became employed as a Priority Team Medical Board Investigator with the SC Department of LLR investigating South Carolina’s medical doctors for improprieties committed against their licenses. Since leaving LLR, Fay has pursued - and thoroughly enjoyed - a career in the law, starting out as a litigation paralegal and finally achieving her goal of becoming a practicing attorney. Fay has worked in the legal field for fifteen years. She has experience with civil litigation matters involving medical negligence, employment law, catastrophic injuries, workers compensation and personal injury. She works primarily with personal injury claims, civil litigation, and workers compensation for the claimant. While maintaining her position as practice manager and litigation paralegal with Francis X. McCann, Fay attended Charleston School of Law and graduated with her Doctor of Law Degree in May of 2019. At graduation, the Charleston School of Law annually selects a limited number of graduates to become members of The Forensic Club, based on demonstrated leadership, professionalism, public service and academic commitment. Fay was one of the few graduates named to receive this high honor. After 6 years with Francis X. McCann, P.A. and an appointment to a position as a Charleston County Magistrate, Judge McCann decided to retire from the practice of law. Fay found her way to the law office of Natasha Hanna specializing in personal injury matters, workers compensation law for the claimant and criminal law. Outside of the office, Fay enjoys living in the Myrtle Beach Area with her two dogs. She enjoys spending time with family and friends, Gamecock Football, music, traveling and anything to do with the outdoors.
