Senior leadership role reporting to the Chief Commercial Officer, with responsibility for the strategy, performance and optimisation of the British Heart Foundation’s national, multi-format retail and operational estate.Accountable for the commercial property strategy across c.660 shops nationwide, spanning high street, shopping centre and retail park locations, alongside regional offices and storage sites. Member of the Retail Senior Leadership Team, shaping estate strategy to support sustainable income generation for lifesaving research within a rapidly evolving retail environment.Ownership of £30m+ p.a. property operating budget (rent, rates, service charge, insurance) and c.£10m p.a. capital expenditure, ensuring strong commercial discipline, affordability and value for money.Providing strategic leadership across acquisitions, lease consultancy, estate management and property operations, with accountability for performance, outcomes and governance.Overseeing transaction activity (c.100 events p.a.), ensuring estate flexibility and alignment with trading performance and local market conditions.Acting as a senior advisor on portfolio risk, opportunity and capital prioritisation, supported by a data-led, asset-based decision framework.Partnering closely with Retail, Property Development, Finance and Operations to align estate decisions with commercial objectives and customer experience.Embedding ESG, sustainability and responsible stewardship into property strategy, supporting the charity’s commitment to net zero by 2045 and the growth of circular retail models.Building trusted relationships with landlords, agents, developers and sector bodies to support delivery and long-term estate resilience.
