Using self-taught SWMM5 skills in PCSWMM to create a campus hydraulic model that aims to guide future green infrastructure implementation to gain real-world hydrologic modeling and evaluation skills and a practical understanding of stormwater management software.• Improved 8 acres and over 800 pipes and nodes of the campus GIS model with ArcGIS, QGIS, and Python for accurate importation to SWMM5 (PCSWMM), which refined the model’s simulation by over 10%.• Authored a literature review paper on the state-of-the-art of stormwater modeling, bridging the gap between academic research and practical uses to decrease pollution in receiving waters.• Received across Stamps Scholarship and Dartmouth research grants to support this project and my professional development.

ABOUT FATMATA S.

I am a Dartmouth College student pursuing a unique dual-degree: a BA in Engineering Sciences and a BEng in Environmental Engineering from the Thayer School of Engineering. My passion lies at the intersection of water resources, green infrastructure, and urban environmental justice.Through coursework and research in hydrology, fluid mechanics, transportation, and urban stormwater modeling, I\'m learning to understand and design systems that can withstand deep climate uncertainty. My work in life cycle assessment ensures I consider the long-term impacts of these designs. My goal is to gain practical experience before pursuing a master\'s degree and a career dedicated to designing and reviving aging water infrastructure.
