WORK HISTORY
Visiting Lecturer @Bahcesehir University
Istanbul, TR
Bahçeşehir University (BAU) is a private educational institution in Türkiye, located around the Bosporus in Istanbul. The university consists of 8 faculties, 1 school of languages and 2 vocational schools. Four institutes provide post-graduate education. There are 17,048 registered students studying at the university. In alignment with my research themes, I have designed two courses for the university’s architecture faculty. they serve as a bridge between theoretical knowledge and real-world applications, preparing students to tackle contemporary challenges in architecture with a research-informed perspective: Couse I - Disasters, Development and Architecture: The course aims to introduce the terminology and ongoing discussions on Sustainable Urban Development and Disaster Management. It explores the relationship between development and disasters and presents the role of architecture and urban planning in these concepts. Course II – Disaster Memory Artefacts: This course aims to provide students with a deep understanding of the key aspects of designing memorial spaces for disasters. It focuses on developing socially responsible architects and designers who can create spaces that support healing, remembrance, and resilience after disasters.
