ABOUT FATMA OMRANI

PhD Mechanical Research Engineer, with 10+ years of experience in technical textile and composites materials. Passionate for renewable resources and green technologies, I have obtained my PhD in Natural Fibre composites, financed by the project SINFONI (French national project). Currently, I work at the AMRC Composite Centre on the development and optimization of dry fibre preforming and composite manufacturing mainly in Aerospace and Automotive. I lead projects focusing on; the permeability study of different carbon fibre structures, Tailored Fibre Placement (TFP) capabilities and 3D weaving. With a role of Deputy Portfolio Lead, I have proven knowledge of project management and leadership skills in a fast-paced commercial portfolio. I’m enthusiastic about gaining new skills and nourishing my sense of curiosity and creativity. I have lived in an international environment my whole life so I value the importance of diversity and inclusion in the workplace.My research interests include composite manufacturing, especially Natural Fibre composites (NFC), Dry Fibre preforming (3D weaving, TFP, Nonwoven) and sustainable manufacturing.Docteure en mécanique des solides et des matériaux et ingénieur R&D textile technique et fonctionnel, qualifiée en mécanique et métrologie en particulier pour des matériaux renforts et composites.
