ABOUT FAITHMA MAHMOOD

I am a Clinical Pharmacology Scientist with over 9 years of experience in translational and clinical pharmacokinetics, spanning both early- and late-stage drug development. My work is grounded in a deep understanding of pharmacokinetic (PK) and pharmacodynamic (PD) modeling, clinical trial design, regulatory strategy, and cross-functional collaboration. Currently at Vir Biotechnology, I lead and support clinical pharmacology components across infectious disease programs, contributing to IND submissions, dose justification, and regulatory interactions. My role bridges data science and biology, enabling evidence-based decision-making throughout the drug development lifecycle. Prior to this, I served as a PK Scientist at QED Therapeutics, where I led PK/PD strategy and partnered with CROs to deliver quality data and timely insights for FIH and Phase I trials. At Merck, my focus was on preclinical immuno-oncology and cardiovascular assets, where I conducted in vivo PK and biodistribution studies and developed assays to support biologic drug characterization. I hold a Master’s in Pharmaceutical Sciences from the University at Buffalo, where I gained hands-on training in drug development, clinical trial simulation, regulatory pathways, and product lifecycle strategy. I’m always open to knowledge sharing, new challenges, and collaborative conversations around clinical pharmacology, translational science, and therapeutic innovation.
