I work in a full time apprenticeship as a medical assistant in the cardiology department of Samaritan. I complete administrative and clinical tasks in the office, such as preparing exam rooms, documenting and updating patient records, taking vital signs, performing EKGs, etc. Outside of the clinic, I will complete classroom training and plan on getting certification (CCMA) once all requirements of the apprenticeship are fulfilled in about 1 year.
