ABOUT FATIMAH ZAIDI
As a final year Mechanical Engineering student at McMaster University, I am passionate about design and design research, especially in the fields of medical device and space industries. I have acquired multiple IBM certifications, such as Agile Explorer, Enterprise Thinking Design Practitioner, and Accessibility Advocate, to enhance my design thinking and problem-solving skills.I recently completed a year as an Instructional Assistant Intern for the first year engineering course, where I developed technical information and equipment for use by approximately students, and led and facilitated labs involving sketching, visualization, CAD, and programming in Python. I also communicate with students and provide feedback and assistance on their coursework and attendance. Previously, I was a Technical Writer, where I collaborated with developers and other technical writers to create content using DITA XML and platforms like Github and Jira. I have also been involved in the McMaster Rocketry Team for over three years, where I design and fabricate rockets ranging from C-M class and launching up to feet. I just completed my position as the Airframe Team Lead, where I designed rocket aerostructure and organized and maintained team documents and resources to ensure smooth and efficient communication and project delivery.
