About Dave Kruse

I grew up in San Diego and now live in the Pacific Northwest. I love God. I love my Family. I love my Country. While in the military, I served in the Army SOF community, and afterwards as a civilian SERE instructor. I\'m a veteran of the Iraq War. I entered Catholic seminary in Spokane, WA, and was ordained a priest of Jesus Christ in 2015. I\'ve been serving in the Diocese of Spokane since then. I’m in full communion with Bishop Tom Daly, the seventh Bishop of Spokane, and Pope Francis, the 266th successor of St. Peter of Bethsaida, Galilee. Every day I remind myself of my identity as a beloved son of the God the Father, a priest of Jesus Christ, and a spiritual father to the people I serve. I draw strength and inspiration in the following words spoken by Jesus and recorded in Luke’s gospel: “The Spirit of the Lord is upon me, because he has anointed me to bring glad tidings to the poor. He has sent me to proclaim liberty to captives and recovery of sight to the blind, to let the oppressed go free, and to proclaim a year acceptable to the Lord.” (Luke 4:18) I take these words to heart and strive to apply them to my life and ministry. My encounter with Jesus Christ and His Church has changed my life. It has brought me interior healing, freedom, and peace of heart that the world cannot give. I pray the same for you.
