ABOUT FARZANEH PARIMAN
I am a registered psychological Associate with over 10 years of experience both in and outside of Canada and educated with a master\'s degree in Clinical Psychology focusing on psychosomatic disorders. I am a therapist and an educator. I work with my clients using a social justice-oriented, non-judgmental approach to mental health. My approach to therapy aims to help clients fulfill their potential and become their own person. I respect clients\' authority and control of their lives and believe that they are experts of their lives. I aim to empower clients, following a strength-based perspective which asserts that despite of life\'s difficulties, we all retain strength that can be used to improve our quality of life. Finally, I believe that there are resources in every environment from which individuals can benefit to improve their lives. My work is informed by a humanistic approach and includes these practice modalities: CBT, Mindfulness-based Cognitive Therapy, Solution-focused Therapy, and Narrative Therapy. My practice focuses on enhancement of emotional intelligence through learning emotional management skills, improving social relations and cognitive skills, and the development of self-protecting and self-correcting skills. I believe in the importance of setting healthy boundaries in order to accept social responsibilities, building social connection, and establishing healthy attachment relationships. I work with individuals experiencing:\" PTSD,\" issues related to self-esteem, attachment and interpersonal relationships,\" domestic violence,\" grief,\" life transitions,\" sleep impairment,\" anxiety and mood disorders,\" crisis intervention,\" anger management,\" life stressors.
