Engineering manager and solution architect, with a rich background in Java/J2EE and Hadoop development. Managing a diverse team spread across geographical. I have extensive experience developing web-based applications using Hibernate, Spring MVC, Spring, Web services, Dojo, AJAX and JavaScript, and a strong working understanding of the Cloudera Hadoop ecosystem. With my ability to elicit business capability needs and then deliver technical solutions, I’ve conceptualized, designed, developed and implemented systems for hospitals, payers and providers that processed millions of records of claims and eligibility data on Oracle databases. I led a team in architecting and developing a Big Data solution for the batch processing of files using Hadoop MapReduce, Oozie workflow, Solr search engine, Hive, Impala and Avro file formats. Most recently, I also led the development efforts of a conversion of an existing ETL project to a Spark project written in Scala. I am excellent at adaptation and rapidly educate myself on new concepts and material.
