ABOUT FARIDA LAKHANI
Hi everyone! My name is Farida and I’m a full-time Propulsion Flight Controller at NASA JSC. I’m also a former NASA ISS OPS PLAN Flight Controller Intern and GE Test Systems Engineering/Flight Test Operations Co-op. My recent projects include earning my Private Pilot License and working on my Instrument Rating as well as coauthoring a study on extremophiles to be collected and analyzed on my upcoming analog astronaut missions. Additionally, I successfully completed my first round of spaceflight training. This experience included pressure-suit testing, ingress & egress simulation, water/capsule recovery, extreme environment survival, and procedure development. I graduated from the University of Houston with a Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering and studied Marketing, with Honors Distinction. I have 5 years of combined experience across human space flight, flight test engineering, aerospace, aviation, entrepreneurship, commercial real estate development, finance, and marketing strategy.
