About Farheena Mohammed
I am a graduate student in Electrical Engineering at Cleveland State University, specializing in Power Systems and Power Electronics. My passion lies in designing reliable, efficient, and innovative power solutions that strengthen energy infrastructure and enable renewable integration. With a strong foundation in electrical system design, protection, and control, I bring hands-on experience in transmission & distribution planning, power electronics converters, FACTS devices, STATCOM systems, and renewable integration. My projects include relay-based protection schemes using SEL 487E, SEL 451, and SEL 411L relays; AutoCAD-based motor control panel design and wiring layouts; PSCAD/MATLAB simulations of converters, inverters, and HVDC/FACTS systems; strategic transmission planning studies; and advanced projects in EV fast-charging systems, smart building energy simulations, and solar tracking schemes.Core Expertise Power Systems & Protection – Transmission & distribution planning, relay coordination (SEL Relays), contingency analysis, FACTS/STATCOM, and grid reliability studies. Power Electronics – Design, simulation, and testing of converters, inverters, VSI drives, and EV fast-charging systems for efficient energy conversion. Design & CAD Tools – Proficient in AutoCAD Electrical, Revit, PCB Design, and preparation of compliant schematics, layouts, and wiring diagrams. Modeling & Analysis Tools – Skilled in ETAP, PSCAD, MATLAB/Simulink, PowerWorld Simulator, and SKM for load flow, fault analysis, and stability studies. Automation & Control – PLC programming, SCADA integration, motor control circuits, and industrial automation for reliability and safety.I am currently on OPT (Optional Practical Training) and actively seeking full-time opportunities in Power Systems, Power Electronics, and Protection & Control Engineering. Open to relocation, I am eager to apply my expertise in system design, protection schemes, and advanced simulations to deliver safe, efficient, and sustainable engineering solutions. Let’s connect and explore opportunities to drive innovation and build the future of energy systems.
