ABOUT FARES MAKAREM

Throughout my career, I have worked with multiple sectors of the bank, including -but not limited to - Capital Markets, Global Liquidity Cash Management (GLCM), MarketOps, and Wholesale banking. I developed a reputation as a professional leader, problem solver, and team builder, ultimately, minimize blockers that may hinder a project\'s budget and/or timeline. I also have extensive experience managing the Run the Bank (RTB) Dev-Ops team contributing to enhancing and maintaining services/products in production. With a proven track record in financial services domain, I excel in business process automation, project management, client/stakeholder communication, and support team leadership. Having a keen eye for gaps and focusing on a better future is essential; staying up to date with modern and rising technologies to implement improvements in the team\'s working models and/or infrastructure, is key to a product\'s long term success. Notably, I\'ve spearheaded automation projects resulting in substantial cost savings for HSBC and established a Global RPA Center of Excellence. Worked closely with the clients/business stakeholders to understand the goal and execution plan clearly; of course, in an agile project the requirements are not perfectly clear, which required extra collaboration through retrospective meetings and demos. My expertise extends to navigating global organizational frameworks, transitioning teams to agile methodologies, and orchestrating infrastructure migrations to cloud platforms. With strong leadership and communication skills, I\'ve successfully led cross-functional teams, ensuring alignment with business goals. My experience includes managing project lifecycles, fostering stakeholder collaboration, and optimizing operational efficiency in a global matrix environment.
