As a member of the SLT and the primary lead and coordinator for Health, Safety, and Environmental (HSE) activities, my role entails advising management teams on legal requirements, industry best practices, and group standards. Collaboration with site management and the Regional EHS team is essential in my role to drive the safety agenda and actively engage frontline workers and management to cultivate a proactive safety culture.Creating forums and communication channels to involve and inform colleagues is pivotal, alongside developing standards and performance frameworks for assessment and benchmarking, including responsibilities of mine also include coordinating the generation and maintenance of risk assessments and safe work processes, managing incident investigation processes, and reporting industrial injuries. Conducting routine Site Health & Safety/Environmental audits to meet local and group requirements, while reviewing, updating, and maintaining Site Health, Safety & Environmental Management Systems are integral aspects.I support and advise Occupational Health & HR to ensure colleague health and wellbeing, building effective Company, local, regional, and national HSE networks to share and learn best practices, and maintaining Environmental Management Systems (EMS) in line with standards such as ISO14001 & are crucial components of my multifaceted role.
