About Fang Wang

Dr. Fang Wang is currently Head, Drug Substance Manufacturing, at Corcept Therapeutics. Dr. Wang provides strategic and scientific leadership in drug substance development and manufacturing for phase II, Phase and commercial programs. In addition, she also leads a cross-functional CMC team to accelerate pharmaceutical development and manufacturing for NDA readiness.Previously, Dr. Wang served as Executive Director, CMC project lead, at Revolution Medicines; Head of Chemical Development at GBT, and Head of API Crystallization and Engineering at Gilead Sciences. She provided strategic and cross-functional leadership to API development for all GBT and Gilead’s development programs ranging from pre-IND through NDA stage programs. Her expertise and leadership have enabled the approval of multiple NDAs and MAAs. Dr. Wang was the key leader who provided both strategic leadership and hands-on experimentation for the crystallization development and commercialization for SOVALDI® and HARVONI®. During the last 20+ years, Dr. Wang led multiple CMC teams to manage cross-functional activities including Process Chemistry, Formulation Development, and Analytical Development. In the mean time, she mentored/trained more than 100 scientists. Prior to Gilead, Dr. Wang started her career at Pharmacia/Pfizer after completing her Ph.D. in Chemical Engineering and Chemistry.
