ABOUT FABIO FLORENCIO

I’m a Senior Producer at Sumo Digital working on a multi-platform console/PC project in partnership with Digital Extremes. I lead art production at scale, overseeing multidisciplinary teams and driving alignment across creative, technical, and external stakeholders.I bring nearly 20 years of experience across game design, production leadership, and studio operations, with a career focused on building teams, scaling production, and delivering complex projects across multiple studios and partners. In my current role, I own the art production pillar, with responsibility for strategy, staffing, pipeline health, milestone planning, and delivery. I work closely with discipline leads, production, engineering, QA, and external partners to align vision, scope, and quality bars, while actively managing risk, dependencies, and long-term sustainability of the team.A core part of my leadership approach is establishing clear production frameworks—Definition of Done, acceptance criteria, MAT readiness, and milestone gates—that enable teams to move faster without sacrificing quality or creative intent. I’m particularly focused on creating environments where teams can operate autonomously, communicate clearly, and make informed trade-offs.Previously, I served as Producer and Executive Producer at XR Games, shipping multiple console, VR, and Apple Arcade titles, including The Angry Birds Movie 2 VR: Under Pressure, Zombieland VR, and Nickelodeon’s The Loud House: Outta Control. This experience strengthened my ability to lead licensed IP development, work directly with platform holders, and navigate submissions, compliance, and first-party relationships.Earlier in my career at Rovio Entertainment, I grew from Game Designer into leadership roles during the company’s transition to F2P, contributing to live operations, product iteration, and team leadership across multiple countries. This period shaped my product mindset and long-term thinking around player-focused development.I hold a degree in Music and a Master’s in Product Design, have worked across Brazil, Finland, Spain, and the UK, and bring a calm, people-first leadership style grounded in clarity, accountability, and trust.Outside of work, I remain deeply passionate about games, with broad genre interests, a long-standing love for pen-and-paper RPGs, and a recovering World of Warcraft addict.
