ABOUT FAEZ SIDDIQI
A goal-oriented leader, who excels in tackling challenging problems, innovates as needed and builds multidisciplinary teams to advance preclinical and clinical pipelines for precision medicine. By leveraging extensive experience in diverse scientific topics including biomarker development, molecular neuroscience, disease pathology, gene therapy, stem cell biology, and therapeutic assay development for the goal of bringing targeted therapies to the patient bedside. TBI liquid biomarker technology-Most recently (20••••22), I worked in the area biomarker development in a leadership role where I helped develop and strategize a novel epigenetic DNA-based biomarker platform. The project involved big data sequencing analysis, neuropathology, epigenetics & PCR technologies-I conceptualized the approach and co-founded a nascent biotech startup for TBI detection. Assay development & stem cell biology-Previously (20••••19), I advanced novel assay for the production of genetically modified mouse neural stem cells & human iPSCs for transplantation into diseased brains. This was adopted into a high throughput assay screen. Discovery of unidentified population of neurons-For my postdoc (20•••16), I advanced the field of neurobiology by demonstrating the existence of a previously unknown population of inhibitory neurons within the brain by high-resolution imaging and histology. Biotech consultant.I am cross-functional leader who lead multiple Wharton-Penn Biotech Consulting (20••••18) projects that ranged from small startup to mid-sized biotech companies-As team leader, I generated project deliverables ranging from assessing competitive landscapes, developing new products, writing fundable SBIR grants, & developing a strategic plan for market entry-My team leadership style is focused on strong communication, interpersonal cohesion, time management, assessing go/no points, & positive attitude.Development of novel genetic labeling technology in neurons-PhD thesis (20••••10) focused on the development of a new vector-based technology that was hugely impactful in the fields of neurobiology & oncology. This technology was later commercialized.Stem cell biology technician-Following undergraduate I joined an early stage startup to focus on disease modeling and assay development by working in a neural stem cell company where I advanced a high throughput small molecule drug development project and prepared regulatory documents and SOPs-Contact information: f••••••••@gmail.com
