High level of Predictive Die Maintenance system and running checks / repairs to press tooling; • First response to breakdowns and control to deliver minimal down time using safe working practices and the information learned to pre-empt future problems and plan a more efficient predictive maintenance system; • Work on existing tooling which ranges from engineering changes to minor modifications; • Proactive in highlighting problems, proposing solutions & alternative options where possible; • Full training and understanding of law mandated safety practices and regulations, including COSHH, LOLER, and PUWER and the relevant safety metrics and processes used in the press shop such as ECPL; • Support Engineering team to develop new products providing expert knowledge on tooling design identifying potential processing/manufacturing issues with design concepts; • Building new press tools from project to try out and buy off; • Working closely with other team members to minimize downtime; • Trained on all standard tool-room equipment and machines; • Strip and rebuild dies using overhead cranes; • Working as an individual and part of a team addressing die repair and reconditioning activities; • Problem solving and route cause analysis for reliability and quality requirements; • Strong Engineering / Tool making background / Years of experience in the automotive industry; • Familiar with pneumatic and hydraulic systems. • Support all elements of production systems including total preventative maintenance, error proofing, quick change over and others; • Excellent attention to detail and analytical skills, with the ability to solve problems and naturally strive for continuous quality improvement; • Playing a key role in developing dies from project to buy off being instrumental in the successful implementation of the Die Manufacturing Center ( DMC) in Halewood.
