Awarded the 2019 Canada\'s Top 100 Most Powerful Women Award by Women Executive Network; 2018 Canada\'s Top 40 under 40 award by Caldwell Partners and named 2018 Person of the Year (Arts & Culture) by the newspaper La Presse, Fabienne Colas is an award-winning actress, filmmaker, speaker, business owner and consultant.She is the Queen of Festivals who created and manages 9 successful festivals between Montreal, Toronto, Halifax, New York City, Port-au-Prince and Salvador (Bahia, Brazil) – including the Montreal Intl Black Film Festival, Canada’s largest black film festival and the very popular Toronto Black Film Festival.Besides attracting tens of thousands of festival-goers and showcasing hundreds of artists every year, those events have also welcomed and/or paid tribute to celebrities such as: Harry Belafonte, Stedman Graham, Danny Glover, Spike Lee, Martin Luther King Dany Laferrière, Wyclef Jean, Alfre Woodard, Souleymane Cissé, Clement Virgo.Founder of Zaza Production, Fabienne is a charismatic leader whose primary mission is to help others unlock their greatness and bring their business to the next level through coaching, seminars, workshops, online courses & tutorials.As chairman of the Fabienne Colas Foundation, she awards grants and promotes indie films and artists who, otherwise, would not have been seen or heard. She sat as a board member on the Society for the Celebrations of Montréal’s 375th Anniversary.In 2015, Fabienne was awarded a Medal from Quebec’s National Assembly – recognizing her leadership and contribution in the fight against racism and discrimination in Quebec.In 2008, she directed/starred in her first narrative film, Minuit. Considered by many as the most popular actress in Haitian cinema, Fabienne started out as a model and was crowned Miss Haiti in In 2003 she won the Ticket d’Or in Haiti for best actress (Barikad). She has also played on TV/Cinema productions in Quebec (Watatatow, Comment Conquérir l’Amérique en une nuit.).She has sat on prestigious juries including those of Canada Council for the Arts, Conseil des arts et des lettres du Québec & Les Prix Gémeaux.
