ABOUT FABIAN HÖING

I currently work as Medical Affairs Manager at AstraZeneca in the Respiratory & Immunology department, working in a crossfunctional way to bring biologics for the treatment of severe asthma to patients in need. Earlier, I obtained my PhD in the laboratory of Prof Christine Goffinet, PhD, at Charité - Universitätsmedizin Berlin. There, I have been working on the interaction between the tropical Chikungunya virus with its human host. For this, I combined state-of the art methods such as single-cell RNAseq analysis and live-cell imaging and worked in a number of (inter)national cooperations. Furthermore, I worked on the pandemic SARS-CoV-2, where I have been involved in interdisciplinary projects ranging from basic research to the analysis of patient material to solve unanswered questions about disease severity and viral mutations. Prior, I worked on Mycobacterium tuberculosis and flaviviral pathogenesis at the Oregon Health and Science University in Portland OR.
