More bare metal services! OSes are my bread and butter - image creation, hardware troubleshooting, OS installation, and OS lifecycle. Built Go microservice to handle installation of third-party operating systems (VMware ESXi, and Nutanix AOS, Kinvolk Flatcar Linux) Created Go CLI tool for dynamic Buildkite CI pipeline generation for testing/publishing 3rd party operating systems. Designed Go CLI tool for Linux image customization and creation. Used to create compatible Linux images for our most popular OSes (Ubuntu, Debian, Alpine, etc.). Contributed to OSIE, an Alpine Linux and Docker-based environment for operating system installations via shell scripts and Go/rust containers. Instrumented with OTEL. Developed Go microservice running in Kubernetes acting as a DHCP, TFTP, PXE, and iPXE server to facilitate network installation of OSes. Participated in on-call rotation for handling production OS installation service incidents and OS image support.
