ABOUT BELINDA KIRK
I\'m an Explorer, Campaigner and Speaker encouraging others to live more adventurously. I\'ve spent 26 years leading groups into the wilderness all over the world and I\'ve seen it change lives for the better. I have been promoting the benefits of adventure on wellbeing via my book, conference, community and public appearances for over a decade. BOOK: Adventure Revolution: The life-changing power of choosing challenge is the first book to explain why adventure is essential to wellbeing. It puts an energizing and groundbreaking case for ditching the living room in favour of a longer, happier, and more adventurous life. Drawing on lessons I’ve learnt from more than two decades of leading groups into the wilderness around the globe, my own research with modern hunter-gatherers, and the latest findings in neuroscience and psychology, I show how adventure has the power to transform the timid into the confident, the addicted into the recovering, and the lost into the intentionally wandering. ADVENTURE MIND CONFERENCE: In 2020 I launched a groundbreaking conference series promoting adventure for wellbeing. For outdoor professionals, wellbeing practitioners, researchers, brands, policy makers & adventurers. Adventure Mind 2022 is taking place in the UK on 7th & 8th November One of the most inspiring contemporary female adventurers — The Guardian, 2016 Quite the most remarkable achievement carried out by any women alive today. Absolutely magnificent both for mental and physical achievement bar none — Sir Richard Branson Expeditions include. I\'ve walked across Nicaragua, searched for camels in China\'s Desert of Death, discovered ancient rock paintings in Lesotho, pioneered inclusive expeditions for people with disabilities, lead a dozen youth development expeditions around the world and gained a Guinness World Record for rowing unsupported around Britain. An experienced expedition leader, I\'ve managed remote trips for, amongst others, outdoor survival gurus Ray Mears and Bear Grylls. I launched Explorers Connect, a social enterprise connecting people to adventures in 2009. It\'s now a community of open to everyone from total beginners to experienced explorers to link with adventures, team-mates and adventure industry jobs I established Britain\'s national night of adventure, Wild Night Out Specialties: Expeditions, Adventure, Expedition Management, Expedition Safety, Jungles, Desert, Coastal Rowing, Adventure TV
