ABOUT EWOUT LEEUWENBURG
I am an international executive and investor with a history of starting up, developing, and running domestic and international businesses across six continents, having worked in Europe, South America, North America, Africa, Australia, and Asia. I have had the privilege of building successful ventures from the ground up and revitalized businesses into more competitive enterprises in times of recession and growth, consistently generating significant profits and cash, shareholder value, and company growth through strategy and innovation.Recently, I co-founded and serve as Managing Partner of the Orka Group, an investment firm of executive operators that focuses on companies with consistent EBITDAs between $1M and $5M. Concurrently, I am the CEO of Columbus Instruments, one of Orka’s first acquisitions. Additionally, I serve as an officer and treasurer of the Board of Trustees for the Columbus Museum of Art (CMA). Together with my wife, we initiated and developed an innovative international partnership with The Dordrecht Museum, The Netherlands, resulting in the successful exhibition of 90 works, including Dutch Masters at the CMA.I have served on domestic and international corporate boards and partnered with US Federal Government, international trade officials, and US Congressional members. Additionally, I have served as Chairman of the Board of Directors of two international joint ventures ensuring operations resulted in enhanced shareholder relationships and delivered expectations. As a native of The Netherlands, I have resided in the U.S. since 1992. The experience of relocating early in my career with limited knowledge of the language and culture and being expected to ‘hit the ground running’ while directing the start-up of a local manufacturing organization helped shape me into the out-of-the-box thinker and resilient, open-minded leader that I am today.
