ABOUT EMMA PLATO
I\'m passionate about improving people\'s lives and the communities they live in through engagement with STEM. I am currently seconded from the Glasgow Science Centre to work with the Science Skills Academy at Highlands and Islands Enterprise.The Science Skills Academy delivers hands-on practical STEM (science, technology, engineering, mathematics) activities to P6-S2 students in the Highlands and Islands. We run sessions in bespoke Newton Rooms, which are tailored to complement STEM industries in the local community. Our aim is for the sessions to excite and inspire students, and encourage them to study STEM subjects at school and beyond. We also introduce students to the wide variety of STEM career pathways, both in general and in the Highlands and Islands region.
