Lead a preclinical research program to understand the molecular and cellular mechanisms of the aggressive, HER2-positive breast cancer subtype, novel breast cancer therapies, and the therapeutic drug resistance• Secured internal ($450k) and competitive external funding sources to support this research program: an NIH/NCI K22 grant ($450K) and the ACS Research Scholar grant ($660K), totaling over $1.6M• In collaboration with the departmeny of Dermatology, initiated and lead a research project aiming to understand novel mechanisms of skin regeneration and inflammation, using single-cell transcriptomics and bioinformatics. This project was recently selected for an oral presentation and a travel grant among North American junior faculty at the ISID meeting in Tokyo• As an Early Career Reviewer (ECR), reviewed NIH R01 grant proposals related to cancer drug development and served on the Mechanisms of Cancer Therapeutics B (MCTB) study section in June 2023• In this position, athored 7 manuscripts: three as a corresponding author, six in collaboration• Routinely write animal (IACUC), biosafety (IBC), and human research (IRB) compliance protocols and amendments, draft other legal documents (e.g, MTAs)• Managed a research scientist, two postdocs, trained and mentored three high school students, two undergraduate students, and a Master’s student, all successfully continuing in STEM-related fields• Volunteer as a mentor/coach with the New York Academy of Sciences and the American Cancer Society; frequently contribute to public outreach events• Frequently provide ad hoc reviews for internationally recognized journals
