About Evelyn Hernandez-Vargas
I am all about Renewables and the Electrical Grid, leading whole product development and solutions innovation to help meet the need for affordable, reliable, and sustainable energy. My job is mostly about electrical and control engineering, which is my main area of expertise. It is, however, Electrical Power Systems that I am most passionate about, with a strong focus on grid integration and grid code compliance. My experience includes solar and wind farm integration, modeling, simulation, and validation with PSCAD, as well as power park control software development with Matlab and Simulink.Educating women in STEM as well as promoting renewable energy technology is of great importance to me. This is why I am proud member of the Women in Renewable Energy Mexico NGO (MERM), the Women in Renewable Energy and Energy Efficiency Mexico NGO (REDMEREE), the National Council of Solar Photovoltaics Professionals (CPEF) and the Mexican Wind Energy Association (AMDEE). As a woman leader in the Mexican energy sector, I have been recognized among the top 12 Leading Women in the Value Stream of the Energy Industry in Mexico by Energia a Debate, and among the top 100 by ONEA Mexico.
