About Evelyn Eggers

Hello! I am Evelyn Eggers, a current Senior at Indiana University Bloomington studying Secondary Education with a focus of history as well as a double major in Political Science. I plan to pursue a future career as a history teacher or continue my education with law school to become a sex crime prosecutor. Through my time at Indiana University, I have gotten heavily involved with my campus\' Student Government. As the School of Education Representative for Indiana University Student Government Congress, I have been able to be the voice for my constituents. I have been successful in passing 10+ pieces of legislation that makes my university a more equitable place for all students. Additionally I was the subcommittee chair for the Student Services Committee that focused on making mental health aid accessible and affordable for all students. Within the 2021 Summer Congressional Session I have served as the Press Secretary and a chair on the Steering Committee helping congress navigate the direction of the organization. Additionally, throughout the 2022 Congressional sessions, I served as the Chair of the Education committee for the student body. Finally, through the 20••••24 school year, I will get the opportunity to be the Director of Sexual Violence Prevention within IU Student Government. Through this position, I hope to raise awareness and end the epidemic of sexual violence within the Bloomington community. Aside from my involvement in Student Government, I am a member of Kappa Alpha Theta Social Sorority in the 2021 pledge class. I serve as my pledge class representative for the Membership Development Committee. This committee adheres to getting women involved in philanthropy events and navigates student misconduct cases. Through being a Theta, I have gotten the opportunity to work directly alongside the philanthropy, CASA, to make a real impact on children\'s lives who are victims of broken homes. Alongside upholding Theta\'s moral code, I have had the opportunity to create change from within the sorority as a member of the Bylaws Committee. Through my time as a Legal and Strategic Sourcing Intern at Allied Solutions, I have been exposed to the important relationship between the law and business. Within my time serving the strategic sourcing team, I have gotten to experience how vital relationships are within business but also my future endeavors as a professional. As a student I highly value communication, collaboration and developing a larger world-view perspective. I plan to take these strengths into my future endeavors.
