I have been in the developmental disabilities field for over 40 years and working at HeartShare since 1994. I am responsible for 49 supervised residences and 49 supportive/ISS apartments serving about 400 individuals. I am also responsible for HeartShare\'s 12 adult day programs serving more than 600 individuals. These programs are supported by over 1,200 staff members, predominantly direct support professionals. My particular passion is the development, training, and recognition of the direct support professional workforce.
