About Eve Lewandowski
I am a licensed clinical psychologist specializing in severe and persistent mental illness. My research in neurocognitive phenotypes in psychosis and my clinical work with serious mental illness have converged on an interest in the treatment of neurocognitive dysfunction in hopes of improving community outcomes for patients with psychotic disorders. My research focuses in three main areas: 1) Cognitive Remediation (CR), an intervention directly targeting cognitive deficits in psychosis. I directed the first federally-funded clinical trial of computer-based CR for patients with bipolar disorder with psychosis (NIMH K23) and am now conducting implementation work to translate CR into clinical practice, for which I was awarded the 2018 Connie Lieber Science to Practice Award. 2) Computational approaches to the characterization of heterogeneous symptom dimensions across the psychoses, including cognition and reward processing (NIMH R21; PI: Lewandowski). 3) Mapping the longitudinal course of neuroprogressive changes in psychosis (NIMH R01; PI: Lewandowski), including cognition and brain measures, in order to understand the development of commonly-observed abnormalities, better predict patient outcomes, and aid in development of targeted interventions. In addition to my program of research, I am the Director of Clinical Programming at McLean OnTrack first episode clinic, Director of the Psychotic Disorders Rotation for the McLean Hospital/Harvard Medical School doctoral internship program, and provide training and supervision to fellows, psychiatry and psychology advanced trainees, medical students, and undergraduates. Specialties: clinical psychology, psychotic disorders, neuropsychology, at-risk populations, first episode schizophrenia, bipolar disorder, cognitive remediation
