iCOMAT is on a mission to unlock the performance of composite materials and carbon fiber to enable the lightest vehicles possible. iCOMAT has developed the Rapid Tow Shearing (RTS) technology, the world’s first industrial manufacturing process that enables steering of the fiber orientation within a composite material part. RTS leads to drastically lighter structures, with demonstrated reductions of up to 60% compared to the state-of-the-art, while simultaneously lowering manufacturing cost. The process is ideal for high-volume production in the transportation sector (cars, planes) and leads to significantly lower CO2 emissions for vehicles, both during use (lower weight, less fuel/energy) and during manufacture (zero waste process, highly optimised structures).
