At TELUS I work on the flagship MyTELUS mobile application that helps millions of customers to manage their service accounts.Through the years I played various roles on the MyTELUS app team, Developer, Lead Developer, Solutions Architect, and Principal Developer. Among the achievements in this role- Helped the team to scale the application from thousands to millions of monthly users- Modernized the technology stack migrating the Android app from Java to Kotlin, enabling the usage of the latest tools, languages, and libraries such as Kotlin Coroutines, ProtoBuffers, Jetpack Compose- Modularized the Android application, breaking the monolith on smaller independent pieces. That allowed the team to be more confident in their code changes. This modularization also reduced build times by 40%- I lead a team of 12 very talented developers across 3 platforms (Android, iOS and backend)- Participated along with the Product Owners, Project Manager, and Design Leads in strategic decision and roadmap reviews- Implemented Github Actions to streamline the continuous delivery of the application to key stakeholders- Managed the release of the application to the Play Store- Introduced the first multiplatform production feature to the MyTELUS app, written in Kotlin Multiplatform.
