About Evandro Gurgel Valente
With over 20 years of experience in aerospace engineering, robotics, artificial intelligence, and innovation, I am the Co-Founder, Chief Technology Officer, and Chairman of Airgility Inc, a Maryland technology venture that I founded in 2017. Founded in April of 2017, Airgility Inc. is a rapidly growing startup implementing/fusing AI-based and traditional algorithms onboard aerial and ground robotic systems with a broad reach for talent, research facilities, and partner companies.I am responsible for the technical vision of the company and lead all artificial intelligence, algorithm fusion, and full autonomy projects and productization efforts for the creation and deployment of our intelligent robotic systems running on computationally starved (edge-based) systems operating in GPS-denied, comms-dark, and austere environments. While working at the intersection of aerodynamics, advanced manufacturing, electric propulsion, software/hardware integration, and artificial intelligence; I design and build vertical takeoff and landing (VTOL) autonomous unmanned aerial systems (UAS) for the military, public and commercial service sectors. Whether delivering medical supplies, conducting search and rescue, or protecting our borders, I create modular designs that are rapidly prototyped with blended lifting body and thrust vectoring capability. I am an applied innovator and patented inventor responsible for the technology creation and growth of the technology venture.Airgility\'s range of patented systems include:Quadcopter: DS-1 Minotaur, DS-2 Minos (thrust vectoring), DS-3 Nemesis (fixed or thrust vectoring).Bi-copter: MS-1 Kampe, MS-2 Kerberos, & MS-3 Trident (MS-1 & MS-2 bi-copter hover mode and airplane forward flight; MS-3 bi-copter hover and translational mode only without aerodynamic lift).Bi-rotor: HS-1 Aegis (V-22 Osprey style flight but using lifting body fuselage).
