About Evan Curt
Since joining International Registries, Inc.(IRI) in 2009, Evan Curt has risen to Deputy Commissioner of Maritime Affairs for the Republic of the Marshall Islands (RMI) Maritime Administrator, a role he’s held since 2012. As Vice President of Maritime Security at IRI, he steers the maritime security program for a fleet of over 5,800 globally-trading merchant vessels, ensuring robust oversight and innovative management. Evan represents the RMI as a delegate to the International Maritime Organization’s Maritime Safety Committee (MSC) and Facilitation Committee (FAL), while actively shaping global policies through participation in international maritime security working groups. As the Maritime Administrator’s subject matter expert on maritime cyber risk management, he drives initiatives to safeguard the industry. With a Master’s in Maritime Security from Coventry University, an MBA from Arizona State University’s W.P. Carey School of Business, and a Bachelor’s in Business and International Studies from Virginia Tech, Evan blends academic rigor with real-world expertise. He is also a certified ISO 9001:2015 Lead Internal Auditor, ISPS Code Security Officer, and an Associate Fellow of the Nautical Institute.
