I am currently the Director, Talent Acquisition and Candidate Experience for D2L, where we are transforming the way the world learns. D2L provides the next generation learning environment and solutions to engage and inspire learners lifelong.I have led Recruiting teams of up to 15 people, and have had the benefit to weave in and out of leadership roles during my career. My early career focused on Early Talent and Co-op recruitment, before transitioning into Technical Recruiting. As part of my passion for learning about what I\'m hiring for, I\'ve frequently been asked if I have a technical background (I definitely do not) as I am adept at speaking to technical candidates about what D2L is working on at a level that often catches them by surprise. As a Recruiter my superpower is bringing job requirements to life for candidates at all levels, through deep understanding of company needs and how their background may align. As a leader, that superpower is knowing my team as individuals, giving them autonomy to work on projects that inspire them to complete their best work alignment with company goals, and coaching them to grow their skills and competencies. You\'ll often find my mind at the intersection of creativity (check out some of my blogs below, I\'ve also ghost written some blogs as a dog of D2L) and operations & data. I\'ve been told it\'s a unique blend of talent, but to me it\'s just being Evan.
