About Evan Vahouny
I’m a strategy and operations leader working at the intersection of sustainability, technology, and community innovation. With 12+ years spanning public & private sector consulting, climate tech, product leadership, and place-based engagement, I help organizations bridge the gap between systems-level strategy and local, human connection.I began my career in management consulting, working with federal agencies and healthcare networks to link social determinants of health, data-driven outcomes, and policy innovation. That experience — and time spent on Capitol Hill — grounded my belief that systems change requires both strong institutions and empowered communities.I later joined Proof as an early founding team member, helping scale the company from pre-revenue to $1M+ ARR and raising $12M. I led product, advisory, and GTM teams to build enterprise sustainability and decarbonization solutions used across global industries. That chapter deepened my expertise in impact measurement, digital implementation, and data-centric business strategy.Today, through Higher Impact LLC, I support mission-driven clients navigating the next frontier of community & civic renewal and sustainability. My work spans:1. Community & Civic Innovation: Partnering with local and national organizations to strengthen social connection, design participatory networks, and build new models for community-based problem solving.2. Sustainability Strategy: Leading materiality assessments, transition plans, and disclosure frameworks.3. Data-Enabled Systems: Vetting and deploying digital platforms, data solutions, and intelligent workflows that enhance impact reporting and operational resilience.4. Fractional Leadership: Supporting startups, consultancies, and nonprofits with strategy, delivery, product development, and GTM execution. My work extends across levels — from hyperlocal neighborhood pilots, to community-level engagement and civic leadership, to national networks focused on connection and democratic renewal. I’m especially interested in building the linkages sustainability, community health, and civic participation.I bring a cross-sector lens shaped by federal systems work, climate tech scaling, advisory leadership, and on-the-ground community practice, helping organizations design strategies that are technically sound, people-centered, and built for real-world complexity.Open to fractional, retainer, or project-based roles in strategy, implementation, product, and business development across sustainability, civic innovation, and digital impact.
