About Evan Obrien

As my admissions internship wrapped up my senior year of high school, my mentor asked me,\"Are you sure you want to move miles away from home?” and I replied, “Yes!” with the biggest grin across my face. Starting with a fresh plate may be daunting to some, but to me I find a thrill in the unknown. My mother always taught me the importance of building upon your base, an important step in painting, which me and her enjoyed doing together growing up. Now in a new chapter of my life, I cumulate all that Boston has taught me, and bring it to the West Coast.As a Marketing major at San Diego State University, I’m exploring how to mix my creative abilities with marketing strategy to create compelling stories that connect brands with people. My experiences span from competitive swimming at the Olympic Training Center in Colorado Springs to interning in social media and admissions marketing.Now active in Alpha Kappa Psi Business Fraternity, The Look SDSU, and the American Marketing Association here at SDSU, I continue to cultivate a professional and collaborative environment. Beyond academics, I’ve spent six years lifeguarding and teaching swim lessons, intertwining my leadership abilities with a keen eye for helping others which has always been a passion of mine.I’m passionate about creativity whether through painting, public speaking, or engaging in marketing campaigns. I’m eager to build a career that combines my artistry and marketability, bringing new fresh and innovative ideas to the table.
