I began my journey over 15 years ago while volunteering at a local homeless shelter as part of a class project for my undergraduate degree at the University of Georgia. This experience completely changed my outlook on individuals with special needs living in poverty and homelessness. It opened my eyes to the realization that not everyone is given the same opportunities and advantages that many of us take for granted in our everyday lives. It has become my mission to work within the community to strengthen our social services network that will ensure that those most in need are provided the opportunity to attain their dreams. Over the years, I have been blessed to work with organizations who share this mission. Over the years, I have been given the opportunity to refine and further development my skill set to include community development, grant writing, program evaluation, public speaking, collaborative planning, and partnership development. My goal is to provide an avenue for anyone to realize their goals despite their social, cultural, or socioeconomic status.
