As Road Safety Manager for the Northeast of Scotland trunk road network, I serve as the primary contact to Transport Scotland for all matters related to road safety. My responsibilities include overseeing road safety management, accident investigation and prevention strategies, and conducting road safety audits across one of the Scottish Governments strategic trunk road network units contracts.I am tasked with delivering the Scottish Government’s Road Safety Framework to 2030, as well as supporting Transport Scotland’s Strategic Road Safety objectives. I lead a team of eight road safety professionals, who produce Accident Investigation and Prevention Reports and design effective trunk road safety interventions. Additionally, I prepare Annual Road Safety Review Reports for Transport Scotland, highlighting areas that require further investigation to support the Scottish Government’s 2030 casualty reduction targets.I represent Amey on various stakeholder platforms, collaborating closely with Police Scotland, emergency services, local authorities and elected members to promote and enhance road safety across the region. I also have detailed knowledge and experience of Safe System Approach to Road Safety and ensure ensure all Amey Core Management Team and Key Staff are trained.I am also responsible for integrating and enhance walking, cycling, and wheeling provisions within the trunk road network and lead in active travel opportunities.
