About Evan Dawson

First and foremost, I am a problem solver. I fell in love with software development because of it\'s massive power and ability to create new opportunities and solve age old problems. I\'m a very flexible and curious individual. I love running head first into new challenges and opportunities to push myself and see what I can really accomplish. I started my software development journey in DevOps mostly focused on developing powershell scripts to configure servers and deploy code through the software stack. The experience left me a stronger software developer because of the knowledge with IIS, Networking, AD, Server Management, Certificate configuration, DNS, etcAfter that I spent some time with a BI team. I was able to obtain experience in consolidating multiple databases into a single definition Operational Data Store. Using SSIS packages and a suite of SQL scripts, the data was then piped from there into a traditional fact / dimension Data Warehouse.I then really worked on developing my software skills directly. I worked mostly with C# and AngularJS (with an array of other techs sprinkled in) supporting a variety of business areas.In early 2017 I was given the opportunity to move into a emerging new Residential Solar business. The business started with myself in IT creating a new solution. I was able to be a part of the growth of this business into millions of dollars of assets under management. During my time in this company, I\'ve been lucky enough to get to grow an app from myself into one that\'s developed by a team of 11 people. I\'ve been able to interact with our outside partners and build relationships from the ground up. I was able to feed my curiosity as I grew into a development lead role. I loved the experience of educating and empowering others. I spent a little time \"in the trenches\" as the Operations Manager directly managing teams responsible for customer service, operations and maintenance of the assets, contractor invoicing, government filings and anything else needed to ensure the healthy operation of the company. Most recently I\'ve had the opportunity to move into a Product Manager role. It has been a truly rewarding experience to be able to take my knowledge from the working of our in-house developed applications along with my experience within the business to develop an application and features that provide immediate and tangible business value. It\'s an exciting challenge to balance a wide range of requests, priorities and prioritizing these to provide the most value to the business in the both short and long term
