Evan Davis leads the Gaming & Sports practice at Royer Cooper Cohen Braunfeld LLC. He represents individuals and entities in all aspects of gaming and sports wagering law across numerous U.S. jurisdictions, and his practice includes handling commercial partnerships, market access agreements, and licensing deals, as well as ensuring compliance with gaming regulations throughout the United States. Evan provides corporate, commercial, and other legal services for sports organizations, international companies looking to enter the U.S. market, and smaller, growth-focused gaming-adjacent companies.Previously, Evan served as Vice President and Deputy General Counsel at Penn Entertainment, Inc.(formerly Penn National Gaming, Inc.)(NASDAQ: PENN), where he led pivotal initiatives, including commercial partnerships, master lease agreements, and the management of high-stakes litigation. Evan also served as Vice President and General Counsel for Rivers Casino Philadelphia, where he oversaw all legal matters for a company with over $300 million in annual gaming revenues and served as one of the key executives spearheading the company’s launch of sports wagering, and as Managing Director at SeventySix Capital Sports Advisory, where he provided strategic advice to clients in the sports wagering sector. Earlier in his career, Evan was an attorney with Dechert LLP and Pepper Hamilton LLP, and served as a law clerk to the Honorable Robert B. Kugler of the United States District Court for the District of New Jersey. Evan was named by the Philadelphia Inquirer as a 2019 \"Influencer of Law,\" and is a recipient of The Legal Intelligencer\'s 2019 \"GC Impact\" award and the Philadelphia Business Journal\'s 2017 \"Best of the Bar\" award. Evan was also named by the Philadelphia Business Journal in 2019 and Emerging Leaders of Gaming and Global Gaming Business magazine in 2018 to their respective classes of “40 Under 40.” Evan has served on the Board of Directors for the Ed Snider Youth Hockey Foundation and on the Board of Trustees for the Bala Cynwyd Library in Lower Merion Township, PA. He has also taught as an adjunct instructor for Temple University’s School of Sport, Tourism and Hospitality Management and currently serves as a Sports Industry Affiliate for the UNLV Sports Innovation Institute.Evan received his B.A. from Duke University and his J.D. cum laude from the University of Pennsylvania Law School, where he served as an editor on the University of Pennsylvania Law Review. He lives in suburban Philadelphia with his wife and two sons.
